Periodicals from continental Ukraine are not allowed into the Crimea
09/10/2014

Due to the impossibility to deliver periodicals to the Crimea, Ukrainian national postal operator, USEP “Ukrposhta”, is forced to cancel its Kyiv-Simferopol route.

Ukrposhta has to take these measures because the Russian Federation Customs Service does not allow periodicals from continental Ukraine to the Crimean Peninsula.

In particular, several days ago Ukrposhta’s Kyiv-Simferopol route truck carrying periodicals was stopped on the entrance to the Crimea by the Russian Federation Customs officials, and after customs control the truck was forced to turn back because of “the prohibition to import periodicals to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea”.

All the periodicals already accepted for delivery will be returned to senders.

We would like to remind that after the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, the Crimean Post refused to accept postal items from continental Ukraine.
